Ray Of Hope Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc.

About this church

Ray of Hope Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ is an independent Christian congregation founded in 1983 and serving LGBTQ+ people and allies from its Elmira chapel and through interactive online worship. The church describes itself not merely as welcoming but as a community created by and for people across sexual orientations, gender identities, relationship histories, faith backgrounds, and levels of religious experience. Worship blends liturgical, charismatic, Pentecostal, Protestant, and ancient Christian elements.

Sunday worship begins at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at 380 West First Street and is also shared through Zoom or Facebook Live. Tuesday Bible Enrichment begins at 6:30 p.m. online. The service ordinarily includes Scripture from a lectionary, music ranging from ancient hymns to contemporary gospel, prayer, preaching, remembrance of names from the AIDS Memorial Quilt, and Holy Communion offered to all. The extensive video archive confirms recurring 2026 Sunday services at 10:30 while documenting special Holy Week hours that should not be mistaken for the weekly schedule. Orders of worship and recordings let visitors understand the congregation’s distinctive theology and format before joining. Because the site uses multiple online platforms, newcomers should follow the current week’s homepage link rather than an older archived meeting link.
