Free Methodist Church of Gloversville

About this church

The Free Methodist Church of Gloversville meets at 1200 County Highway 122 in Gloversville, New York, and holds its Sunday worship service at 10 a.m. (confirm on the website before visiting). The congregation is part of the Free Methodist Church and centers its life on the Trinity and the transforming love of Jesus Christ, summing up its purpose in three words: belong, believe and become. Visitors are encouraged to come as they are, whether dressed up or dressed down. Those who cannot attend in person can watch the Sunday service livestreamed on the church's Facebook page.

Much of the church's outreach runs out of its ministry center at 33 Bleecker St. in Gloversville. The food pantry there, operated as the Free Methodist Center of Hope with volunteers and state grant support, supplies food to as many as 400 area families each week, and the church invites anyone interested in volunteering to get in touch. The Loft is an after-school program for students in grades 6 through 12, open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. during the school year. FM Grit Youth serves teens and their families with teaching during the Sunday morning service and occasional evening Bleecker Blast gatherings, which might be a movie in the gym, a cookout or a game night; scholarships are available for youth activities. Questions can go to the church at 518-752-2332.
