First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown is a congregation where worship, music, food justice, children’s and youth formation, fellowship, and mission partnerships shape community life. Congregational singing, adult choir, instruments, and handbells contribute to worship, while local partnerships create practical opportunities to serve. The church operates distinct summer and program-year schedules rather than one fixed Sunday pattern.

From mid-September through early or mid-June, in-person worship begins Sunday at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m.; the 10:30 service also streams on Facebook and YouTube. During summer, those hours are replaced by one in-person and online service at 10:00. Sunday School for preschoolers through teenagers begins at 9:15 during the school year. Children of every age are welcome in worship, and nursery care for infants through kindergarten is available in room 12. Special Sundays may consolidate the program-year services—for example, a church picnic notice advertises one 10:30 service—so the news page should be checked before a major event. Visitors should select the schedule by date and not apply the summer 10:00 hour after fall programming resumes.
