Central United Methodist Church

About this church

Central United Methodist Church worships in person and by livestream at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays in downtown Albemarle. The congregation calls worship its first priority because it honors God and carries scriptural teaching into everyday life. Its visitor invitation is both warm and candid: people should expect to be loved, challenged, changed, invited to grow, and given ways to serve. The service is designed for all ages within a multigenerational, family-oriented church.

Wednesday programming at 6:30 p.m. includes a Kids Adventure Bible Series and handbell choir, combining age-specific learning with musical participation. Other ministries and service opportunities extend the church’s focus beyond the sanctuary, while the livestream provides a practical first look for people who cannot attend or want to understand the service in advance. Newcomers can use the plan-a-visit page to learn how the broad welcome translates into the Sunday experience. Families should check the school-year calendar for Wednesday sessions and confirm holiday, choir, or special-service changes before traveling to North Second Street.
