First Baptist Church of Gastonia is a Baptist congregation whose mission is to live out Jesus’ command to love God, neighbors, and oneself. What began as a small Sunday School class in 1876 has remained part of Gastonia through several locations and marked its 150th anniversary in 2026. Worship, adult Bible study, music, childcare, senior-adult fellowship, and mission projects shape present congregational life. Continuing outreach includes support for the Baptist Children’s Homes food roundup, Operation Christmas Child, and church members serving in Honduras, while other projects are announced through the congregation’s monthly newsletter.

Visitors attending the adult class should use the entrance from the right-side parking lot when facing the building.
