First Presbyterian Church

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro follows a 10:00 a.m. Sunday worship schedule during summer 2026, with Spanish-language worship at 11:30. The English service is blended and follows a traditionally Reformed order led by the pastoral team and Chancel Choir. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday each month, as well as Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve. Summer preaching uses the Common Bible Lectionary readings. A recent service is available through the parish website, giving newcomers a way to hear the worship and teaching before visiting.

Founded in 1855, First Presbyterian describes itself as welcoming and inclusive, with a mission to follow Christ and the Holy Spirit through worship, community service, shared faith, and love of neighbor. Children's Sunday School ordinarily meets from 9:00 to 9:50 for birth through seventh grade, while the program-year Wednesday Family Night combines children's choir, dinner, and all-ages Bible study beginning at 5:00 p.m. Middle- and high-school youth gather around questions, friendship, service, Confirmation, and everyday discipleship. The church also operates A Day Away, a year-round Mother's Morning Out program for ages six weeks through five years on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; membership is not required.
