Shining Light Baptist Church

About this church

Shining Light Baptist Church is a Baptist congregation in Monroe with a full Sunday schedule: life-stage Connection Groups at 10:00 a.m., morning worship at 11:00, and an evening service at 6:00. Wednesday Bible study and prayer begin at 7:00 p.m. The church describes its preaching as practical and expository, with services built around choir and congregational singing, mostly traditional hymns, selected modern worship songs, and a message directly from the Bible. Services normally last about an hour and are livestreamed.

First-time guests can check children in at the Kids Cove Welcome Center; nursery caregivers are screened and background checked, and children from kindergarten through fifth grade have their own 11:00 Bible program. Teenagers and adults connect through smaller Sunday classes. The same campus also offers Spanish-language Sunday school at 10:00, Spanish preaching at 11:00, and Wednesday study at 7:00. Wider outreach includes a free children's bus ministry, local shelters and pregnancy support, nursing-home ministry, school Bible clubs, youth sports, and extensive missionary partnerships. A welcome center provides new guests with a small gift after Sunday morning worship.
