About this church

The Village Chapel is an independent, interdenominational Christian community whose roots reach to Pinehurst’s first interdenominational service in 1898. Scripture, the lordship of Christ, the Nicene Creed, worship, learning, and service hold together a congregation that offers Anglican-influenced Eucharist, a family gathering, and traditional worship. Education and outreach serve children, teenagers, adults, and the community.

Sunday begins with Holy Eucharist at 8:00 a.m., using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer and Anglican tradition. The 9:30 family service includes hymns, an adult message, and a children’s sermon; children then move to small-group Bible study and activities at 9:45. The Lord’s Supper is served there on the first Sunday monthly. Traditional worship begins at 11:00. Adult Sunday School meets at 9:30 and 10:45. Youth in grades six through twelve gather 5:00–7:00 p.m. except the first Sunday monthly. A children’s page is currently recruiting a paid nursery worker for the 9:30 and 11:00 services and requiring a background check, so visitors should not assume nursery staffing is already available. Public pages do not explain dress, parking, accessibility, child check-in, secure pickup, livestreaming, or service length.
