Emmanuel Baptist Church begins Sunday school at 8:45 a.m. and worship at 10:00 in Winston-Salem. Wednesday Bible study is offered at 9:30 a.m. and again through Wednesday in the Word at 6:30 p.m. The congregation’s identity—“the church in the heart of the community, the community in the heart of the church”—is reflected in parking security, bereavement care, youth programs, transportation, and seasonal service ministries.

Music provides a living tour of Black church traditions. The Spiritual Choir sings Negro spirituals every Sunday before preaching; the Mass Choir brings traditional, contemporary, and urban gospel on first and third Sundays; youth and young adults sing on second Sundays; and the Senior Choir pairs gospel with historic hymns on fourth Sundays. Liturgical dance, mime, and drama add nonverbal and theatrical forms, including programs for Black History, Maafa, Easter, and Christmas. Visitors can therefore expect a consistent worship hour whose musical leadership changes meaningfully through the month.
