Reedy Branch Free Will Baptist Church

About this church

Reedy Branch Free Will Baptist Church is a historic Winterville congregation whose roots are traced by church tradition to outdoor services in the late eighteenth century and organization around 1800. Its name came from the reed-covered stream beside the original one-room log meetinghouse. Today the church’s mission emphasizes gospel proclamation, biblical teaching, discipleship, counseling, fellowship, and support for the wider childcare, education, mission, and ministry work of North Carolina’s Original Free Will Baptists.

Sunday School and small groups begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Sunday sermon and worship at 10:00. One youth page displays Sunday School at 9:05, five minutes later than the consistent 9:00 listing repeated elsewhere, so families should arrive by 9:00. RBC Kids serves grades three through five, and Impact Youth serves grades six through twelve with worship, learning, and peer fellowship; neither page publishes a separate recurring weekday hour. Groups for men, women, and young people provide additional ways to connect. The church also accepts confidential prayer requests without requiring a name or church affiliation. Visitors who are questioning Christianity as well as committed Christians are expressly welcomed, while the detailed history page offers unusual local context for the congregation’s longstanding landmark presence.
