East Market Church

About this church

East Market Church is an Akron congregation describing its mission as authentic faith rooted in Scripture. Sunday worship combines Psalms, prayer, traditional hymns, biblically grounded modern songs, and verse-by-verse preaching. The church is family integrated, welcoming children into the sanctuary while still providing nursery and prekindergarten options. Small groups, discipleship, youth leadership, outreach, and Bible study extend formation beyond the service.

Sunday worship runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with sermons typically lasting about 45 minutes. Dress ranges from jeans and T-shirts to dresses or slacks. Nursery is available for infants and a prekindergarten class serves children through kindergarten age; busy boxes and a sound-equipped quiet room help families keeping children in worship. Wednesday gatherings run from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The first two Wednesdays feature age-specific teen classes, while other weeks use an intergenerational discipleship format and may include a family meal. A footer also lists a Wednesday 5:30 entry without explaining the activity, so newcomers should rely on the event calendar for that week rather than assume an earlier service. The well-lit room and mixed music are intended for congregational participation, not a concert atmosphere.
