Calvary Baptist Church

About this church

Calvary Baptist Church meets along U.S. 36 in Coshocton County, beginning Sunday School at 9 a.m. and the main worship service at 10:15. The congregation describes itself as a church family seeking to know, love, worship, and follow Jesus, with music, preaching, fellowship, outreach, and ministry organized around that purpose. Sunday morning is the primary gathering, while adult ministries add meals, Bible study, prayer, and friendships throughout the month. The official newcomer page explains the church's convictions and allows visitors to review sermons before attending.

Children from kindergarten through sixth grade have Sunday School with singing, Scripture memory, crafts, and age-divided Bible lessons. Junior Church serves kindergarten through third grade during the sermon, and school-year Awana begins Sunday at 4:45 for preschool through fifth grade. Youth in sixth through twelfth grade study the Bible at 9 a.m. and join additional worship, service, and fellowship activities. Volunteers are trained and vetted for children's ministry, and the church views its role as supporting rather than replacing parents. A family can therefore attend one shared education hour, remain for worship, and return for Awana or youth activities when those programs are in season.
