United Church of Christ, Congregational

About this church

United Church of Christ, Congregational offers three Sunday services at 217 East Liberty Street on Medina's historic square. An 8:15 a.m. service meets in the chapel, The Gathering brings contemporary worship to Fellowship Hall at 9, and a 10:30 sanctuary service is also livestreamed. The Gathering combines prayer, praise, Holy Communion, and fellowship in a come-as-you-are setting, giving visitors a distinct alternative to the sanctuary liturgy.

Children may remain in the 10:30 service or go downstairs after the children's message for Jesus Vibes Sunday School. Young people can also serve as acolytes or sing in choirs, while a first- and third-Sunday youth group welcomes grades three through twelve from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Confirmation begins in eighth grade as a year-long exploration of Christian faith and church life. Broader ministry includes Breadmakers, mission trips, music, faith formation, and local service, reflecting the congregation's description of itself as a community rather than only a building. Its history is closely tied to Medina's development and long presence on the square. A visitor can choose the quieter early chapel, contemporary 9 a.m. Gathering, or livestreamed 10:30 sanctuary service according to worship preference, while families seeking Sunday School will find the clearest child-specific option during the latest hour.
