St. Thomas Lutheran Church

About this church

St. Thomas Lutheran Church is a Rocky River congregation formed in 1945 after a wartime mission effort began gathering local families. Its mission is to build the community spiritually by sharing the forgiveness, peace, and hope found in Jesus Christ. Lutheran liturgy, Bible study, children’s and teen formation, music, service, and an early childhood center connect worship with learning across generations. The campus includes accessible routes and an elevator as well as a nursery for infants and toddlers.

Sunday worship begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by fellowship and Christian education at 10:30. Adults, teenagers, and elementary-age children begin the education hour together before separating into age groups for Bible study and activities. The primary worship schedule says Communion is celebrated regularly every Sunday, although a staff-page footer still says first and third Sundays; visitors for whom that distinction matters should confirm directly. Advent and Lent add services listed at noon and 7:00 p.m., with exact dates supplied seasonally. Parking is behind the church, and guests enter the church area through the west doors. Dress ranges from casual to formal, and the service uses varied liturgical traditions while retaining the congregation’s Lutheran heritage.
