The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Tallmadge

About this church

Tallmadge, Ohio's only meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is at 106 E Howe Rd, about 8.5 miles from the nearest other building, in Akron. Wheelchair access is built into the entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating, and the building is open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Both the Tallmadge 1st Ward and the Nepali-speaking Tallmadge 2nd Branch hold sacrament meeting at 10 a.m., meeting in different rooms, while the Akron YSA Branch, for young single adults, follows at 11:30. Each service lasts about an hour with hymns, prayers, the sacrament, and talks by members, and then a second hour of classes begins. There's no cost to attend, and no collection is ever taken. Because congregations here are grouped by language as well as geography and age, a Nepali-speaking branch fits naturally alongside two English-speaking congregations. Ringing ahead before a first visit is a sensible way to check the schedule.
