First Presbyterian Church of Corvallis

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Corvallis is an intergenerational PC(USA) congregation that welcomes people across backgrounds, ages, identities, and abilities. Worship, music, Christian education, children’s formation, and care for creation support personal and spiritual growth, while justice and compassion ministries address hunger, housing, disability, youth crisis, and other community needs. The downtown building includes elevator access, and the congregation’s welcome emphasizes belonging rather than merely physical accommodation. A non-doctrinal preschool and childcare center extends that service to families beyond church membership.

Sunday worship begins at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary and streams live online. About ten minutes into the service, after a pastoral moment with younger disciples, children in kindergarten through fifth grade and youth in grades six through twelve are invited downstairs for separate Sunday School lessons. Younger children explore Bible stories and community; teenagers discuss faith, questions, assumptions, and doubt without being handed simplistic answers. Special Sundays can move worship off campus: the published September 6 ecumenical Labor Day service meets at 10:00 at Bruce Starker Arts Park, where attendees should bring a chair or blanket, while the livestream remains available. Visitors should check current notices before assuming every 10:00 service is downtown.
