Newman United Methodist Church

About this church

Newman United Methodist Church is a Grants Pass congregation founded in 1857, with a Sunday service that changes musical character across the month. First Sundays emphasize traditional worship and Communion with organ and piano; second and fourth Sundays feature the Spirit & Soul band, drawing from rock, gospel, jazz, country, and pop. That rotation gives visitors a more useful picture than simply calling the church’s worship blended.

Sunday worship begins at 10:00 a.m. in person and streams on Facebook and YouTube. Dress is casual. Two parking lots serve the building, and the lot by Sixth Street provides access to a ramp for people who need a step-free entrance. A children’s space at the back of the sanctuary lets families remain together, and the church explicitly welcomes children in worship. Online recordings make it possible to compare different Sundays before visiting. Anyone hoping for a particular musical setting or Communion should check where the date falls in the monthly pattern, while holiday services and fifth Sundays may vary. The visit page is the best source for arrival details and accessibility rather than relying only on the general homepage.
