The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Newport, Oregon

About this church

Newport, Oregon's only meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is at 2229 NE Crestview Dr. The nearest additional one is nearly thirty-nine miles off in Corvallis, and the building is step-free at its entrance, parking and restroom.

The Newport Ward opens sacrament meeting Sundays at 10 a.m., spending close to an hour on hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from members of the congregation. A second hour of classes, Primary among them, wraps up the two-hour gathering. Coming to visit costs nothing at all. Some attendees dress formally and some don't; both are common here. Because the local schedule can shift from one year to another, a quick phone call before a first visit is worth the effort.
