Faith Lutheran Church Elca

About this church

Faith Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation at 820 West Kenwood Street in Roseburg, worships Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in person and online. The liturgy includes confession and forgiveness, hymns, Scripture, a children's message, sermon, creed, prayer, and Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to the table regardless of age or background. Ushers provide a complete worship folder and practical guidance, while a Pray/Play area in the sanctuary helps young children remain part of the service. Clothing ranges from shorts to suits, and coffee follows in the fellowship hall.

Faith describes itself as a community with courageous trust in grace, welcoming people with questions and complexity and explicitly including every gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, marital status, age, and faith background. That welcome is paired with long-term local service. In 1971 the congregation helped establish Roseburg's FISH Food Pantry with other churches and continues to contribute volunteers, skills, and financial support. A weekly Bible study meets at St. George Episcopal Church to explore the coming Sunday's readings, and Lydia's Quilting Group gathers on the fourth Thursday. Word, Baptism, Communion, learning, witness, and service form the congregation's stated identity rather than separate programs competing for attention.
