St. Joseph Catholic Parish

About this church

St. Joseph Catholic Parish celebrates weekend Mass at 4 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday at 721 Monroe Street in Berwick. Weekday Mass is offered at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Confession runs from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Saturday, and the Rosary begins a half hour before every Mass, giving worshipers an additional devotional practice before the liturgy.

A parking lot sits at Monroe and Center streets, with designated accessible spaces behind the church and an accessible entrance for people with mobility needs. The visitor guide makes clear that clothing may range from shorts and sandals in summer to traditional Sunday dress. Ushers can answer questions from the rear of the church, helping guests follow Catholic worship without already knowing the building or service order. Parish life includes religious education, altar service, reading, music, Communion ministry, the Council of Catholic Women, and sacramental preparation. Community projects support the Hope Center Community Cupboard, local elementary-school students, and Berwick's Code Blue homeless shelter through food, school supplies, and seasonal collections. For a first visit, Saturday provides confession immediately before Mass, while Sunday offers the early 8:30 option. Arriving thirty minutes ahead also allows time for the Rosary; guests who only need seating assistance can arrive closer to Mass and speak with an usher.
