Salem United Church of Christ

About this church

Salem United Church of Christ worships in person and by livestream Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in Doylestown. A typical hour includes music, prayer, Scripture, and a sermon engaging the path of God’s love with complexity and compassion. On first Sundays, the congregation worships across generations and shares an open Communion table. Greeters staff both entrances, the upstairs sanctuary is reachable by elevator, and coffee and treats follow in the Assembly Room.

Children in prekindergarten through sixth grade have Sunday School from September through June, except on intergenerational first Sundays. Younger children may remain in the sanctuary’s Pray-Ground, which supplies books, art materials, soft toys, rocking chairs, headphones, and fidgets. Salem identifies with the progressive Protestant United Church of Christ and welcomes people with varied or no religious backgrounds. Music may draw from jazz, folk, Broadway, classical, and religious traditions. Visitors can dress casually, use either entrance, and ask a greeter for the elevator or Pray-Ground before worship begins.
