The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Franklin Twp

About this church

In Franklin Twp, Pennsylvania, this meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1140 Pohopoco Drive is the only one the directory lists for the area, with the nearest other building in Whitehall, about 17 miles away. Wheelchair users can access the entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating with ease.

The Lehighton Branch meets Sundays at 10 a.m. for a sacrament meeting lasting about an hour, with hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from congregation members, followed by a second hour of classes that includes Primary for children. There's no fee to attend and no collection plate is passed around, and visitors don't need to dress formally, though many members do. Because the meeting time in Franklin Twp is set locally and can be revised from year to year, a quick call ahead of a first visit is worth making.
