Resurrection Lutheran Church

About this church

Resurrection Lutheran Church worships at 10:00 a.m. Sunday on Welsh Road in Horsham, with Holy Communion every week. Its liturgy follows a four-part Lutheran pattern of gathering, Word, meal, and sending. The congregation describes Communion as the Lord's table rather than a denominational table and invites those who trust Christ's presence in the sacrament to receive forgiveness, life, and salvation. Coffee and conversation follow in Kinder Hall each week. Some Sundays include a pastor- or guest-led presentation on subjects that have ranged from Lutheran basics and prayer to the sacraments, interfaith understanding, and Martin Luther King Jr.'s Letter from Birmingham Jail.

The parish publishes an unusually expansive welcome covering age, race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, relationship status, addiction, physical and mental health, neurodiversity, incarceration, economic circumstances, and immigration status. It also states a commitment to racial equity and opposition to racism and discrimination. Resurrection's first worship service took place in April 1960, and its current building opened in June 1966. Today, hospitality moves directly into service: after worship, participants also make peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches for the Bread Drop outreach. The church reports producing 8,700 sandwiches in 2025 and 38,497 across four years.
