Central Baptist Church

About this church

Central Baptist Church in Wayne worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in its upstairs Worship Commons. A service typically lasts sixty to seventy-five minutes and follows a printed outline without being bound to a fixed liturgy. Scripture, sermons, music, and a time for sharing joys and concerns shape the gathering. Open Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month to anyone who feels led to participate. Sermons often explore fresh applications of Scripture with an emphasis on living faith through justice and equality.

Music moves beyond a simple traditional-versus-contemporary split: worship can include hymns, anthems, folk pieces, modern songs, congregational originals, and occasionally a secular selection that fits the theme. Parking is available in the limited church lot off West Wayne Avenue, along the street, and in a nearby municipal lot; Sunday parking is free. Guests may enter from Lancaster Avenue upstairs or West Wayne Avenue downstairs. CBC’s explicit progressive and inclusive identity, open table, shared prayer, varied music, and detailed parking information make its Sunday experience easy to evaluate before attending.
