St Mark's Lutheran Church

About this church

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church holds traditional Lutheran worship Sundays at 11:00 a.m. at 105 Main Street in Blythewood, between Blythewood High School and Blythewood Road. The congregation is part of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ and identifies itself as the only LCMC church in central South Carolina. Seasonal observances include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and an Easter schedule that has included a 9:30 brunch before the regular 11:00 service.

St. Mark’s was organized in 1885 with twenty-six charter members, and its historical account follows the congregation from an earlier rural site to its present location on Highway 21. That long continuity gives the church a different character from a newly planted or multi-campus congregation: one weekly service, a historic local identity, and a recognizable Lutheran liturgical pattern. The official site provides a photo gallery, history, contact information, and current special-service notices rather than a large menu of age-segmented programs. Visitors looking for traditional worship can plan around the single 11:00 time, while anyone attending during Holy Week should check the seasonal page because additional services and meals follow their own calendar. The Main Street address and nearby landmarks make the building straightforward to locate.
