Central United Methodist Church in downtown Florence offers three distinct Sunday worship experiences. At 9:00 a.m., the Chapel service is a less-formal traditional gathering in the sanctuary, while The Well meets in the Davis Christian Life Center with a casual setting, themed services, and varied music and prayer. The 11:00 a.m. Sanctuary service follows a traditional pattern of hymns, Scripture, prayer, affirmations, and preaching, supported by choirs, organ, and piano. Sunday School for children, youth, and adults begins at 10:00. Central also holds a brief Wednesday service of prayer and Holy Communion at 12:15 p.m. in Ingram Chapel.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive about fifteen minutes early. Parking surrounds the building, and greeters can help families find worship rooms, classrooms, and the nursery. Clothing ranges from jeans to business attire. Nursery care is staffed by paid caregivers who have completed background checks and CPR and first-aid training, and is available Sundays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children in 3K through fifth grade have age-based Sunday School classes, while middle- and high-school students meet in youth classes.
