Macedonia Baptist Church

About this church

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church is a historically Black Baptist congregation in Hardeeville, South Carolina. Organized in 1876 by worshipers who first met under a brush arbor near Beach Hill Plantation, it continues to connect worship with education, health, youth leadership, and community care. Ministries include associate ministers, deacons and deaconesses, youth praise dance, and a Healthy Heart program that links Christian compassion with physical, mental, and spiritual wellness. Blood-pressure screenings are available after worship on the first three Sundays when requested.

The published monthly schedule varies by Sunday. First-Sunday prayer begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by Communion worship at 10:00. Youth Sunday is held on the second Sunday at 10:00, and Evangelism Sunday on the third Sunday at 10:00. Church School begins at 9:00 a.m. on the second, third, and fourth Sundays. The church is at 467 Macedonia Road. Special circumstances can move or replace a service—the September 2026 calendar, for example, directs the congregation to a Communion service in Ridgeland instead of meeting at Macedonia. Visitors should therefore check the current events page, especially for first Sundays and anniversary observances.
