First Baptist Church Lyman

About this church

First Baptist Church Lyman gathers for Sunday worship at 9:30 a.m., followed by Life Groups at 10:30. Located between Greenville and Spartanburg, the congregation describes its purpose as glorifying God, nurturing Christian fellowship and growth, and carrying out Jesus' Great Commission locally and globally. Worship is guided by Scripture and understood as more than music: the church encourages a life of surrender to God at home, work, school, and in the gathered congregation. Archived services are available online, giving first-time visitors a way to hear the preaching and music before attending.

Kingdom Kids provides Sunday worship activities for infants through fifth grade, and the nursery cares for infants and toddlers during both worship and Life Groups. The ministry emphasizes physical safety, loving volunteers, biblical teaching, and the conviction that children already belong in the church's present life. Students, adults, and senior adults can connect through corresponding groups, while Wednesday programming follows a schedule published on the church calendar. Mission involvement gives members opportunities to take the gospel into the community and beyond. New families can begin with the visitor page, which explains where children's programs fit into the morning and makes the transition from worship to a 10:30 group straightforward.
