Enon Missionary Baptist Church

About this church

Enon Missionary Baptist Church begins Church School at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, followed by morning worship at 10:45 on Pinewood Road in Sumter. Its weekly schedule continues with Purpose Prayer on Tuesday from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. and a combined adult and youth Bible study at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. The church describes itself as Word of Faith and Holy Spirit led, affirming the Trinity, the Bible as its guide for church life, and the active operation of spiritual gifts. Its stated mission is to make disciples of all people and prepare believers to understand and reproduce that work.

The ministry structure is extensive and unusually well explained on the church's own site. ARROW youth ministry combines Christian formation, fellowship, evangelism, goals, worship, and service; Church School builds biblical foundations for youth and adults. A Golden Age ministry provides rides and check-ins for older adults, while hospitality, nurses' aid, kitchen, outreach, missionary, and diaconal teams address practical and spiritual needs. Worship is supported by a mass choir, youth choir, dance ministry, worship team, ushers, and pulpit ministry. The building sits at the corner of Pinewood and Starks Ferry roads on the outskirts of Sumter, a useful landmark for first-time visitors.
