Westminster Presbyterian Church

About this church

Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sumter begins Sunday discipleship at 9:15 a.m. and weekly worship at 10:30. There is no set dress code; the church tells guests that their presence and participation matter more than attire. A current worship guide shows a service shaped by calls to worship, congregational singing, confession of sin and faith, prayer, Scripture, preaching, and attention to missionaries and neighboring churches. Sunday worship is also available online, giving newcomers an opportunity to understand the congregation’s Reformed pattern before attending in person.

Families can use nursery care for children age three and younger during worship. Optional Junior Church serves K4 and K5: children remain with the congregation until the sermon, then leave for an age-appropriate message and return afterward. At 9:15, Sunday discipleship and nursery extend through fifth grade. The congregation publishes a child-protection program focused on children’s physical and emotional well-being. Adults and young adults can connect through life groups, Bible studies, and service teams; one young-adult Bible study meets Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and discussion. Women’s studies, mission-trip opportunities, and a Sunday coffee team add further ways to move from a first visit into community life.
