First Baptist Church of Elizabethton

About this church

First Baptist Church of Elizabethton is a downtown Baptist congregation in Elizabethton, Tennessee, with blended worship and ministries spanning multiple ages. Its vision is for the gospel to transform individuals, families, the church, the city, and the world, and the church frames its members as agents of that change. The congregation was organized in 1842 with thirty-one members, giving it deep roots in Carter County. Today its published ministry mix includes children, students, adult Bible fellowship, prayer, outreach, and seasonal service projects such as Operation Christmas Child. The visitor page is notably direct: the doors are open regardless of where someone finds themselves in life.

Sunday small-group Bible study meets at 9:30 a.m. according to the visitor page, followed by the main service at 10:45. A separate service-times page still lists small groups at 9:45, creating a fifteen-minute discrepancy; newcomers should arrive early or confirm the current start. That page also publishes an evening service at 6:00 p.m. and a midweek service at 6:15 p.m. The church is located at 212 East F Street. People considering a first visit can expect blended rather than exclusively traditional or contemporary worship, a historic downtown congregation, and clear options beyond the main Sunday service.
