St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church

About this church

St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church has served Midtown Memphis for more than ninety years, with its present church dating to 1951. The parish emphasizes intentional discipleship, personal holiness, the sacraments, and the living tradition of the Catholic Church. Sunday Mass is celebrated at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m.; a 4 p.m. Saturday anticipated Mass is in English. The parish also lists a 1:45 p.m. Spanish Sunday Mass at Blessed Sacrament on Hale Avenue, so Spanish-speaking visitors should note the separate location.

Weekday Mass is at 8:15 a.m. Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, with Tuesday Mass at 5:30 p.m. and two Masses on first Fridays. The visitor guide says Low Mass generally lasts 30–45 minutes and Sung High Mass 60–75 minutes. Missals are available near the entrances, dress may range from casual to business attire while remaining modest, and guests are not asked to identify themselves. The 10:45 Sunday Mass regularly uses incense. Catholic discipline ordinarily reserves Holy Communion for properly prepared Catholics; others are welcome to pray during Communion. Confession, Thursday Adoration, online resources, adult formation, social ministry, and parish registration provide further entry points. Because liturgical times can change, the parish specifically directs visitors to its weekly bulletin.
