First Christian Church

About this church

First Christian Church has served Mountain City since 1909 as part of the Christian Church tradition that grew from the American Restoration Movement. The congregation emphasizes biblical authority and Christian unity, expressed in the maxim, “In essentials unity, in nonessentials freedom, and in all things love.” Sundays begin with a blended contemporary service in the Christian Life Center at 8:30 a.m., followed by fellowship at 9:30, classes for all ages at 10:00, and traditional worship in the sanctuary at 11:00. Spanish worship meets at 3:00 p.m., with evening worship at 6:00.

On Wednesdays, the church hosts a free community meal at 6:30 p.m., followed by Bible study and youth group at 7:00. Its ministries include programs for children and teenagers, adult groups, a Wednesday food pantry, and support for local and regional Christian organizations. The church is located at 401 West Main Street, and its live events calendar identifies which building hosts each gathering.
