St. Mark's Methodist Church

About this church

St. Mark’s Methodist Church is a Baytown congregation seeking to make disciples of Jesus Christ while nurturing relationships, spiritual growth, fellowship, and service. Two Sunday worship settings offer distinct musical and liturgical experiences. The traditional service uses historic liturgy, hymns, choir, and organ with weekly Communion; Refuge provides a casual, contemporary setting with a strong Christ-centered focus.

Traditional worship begins Sunday at 9:00 a.m., followed by The Gathering and Sunday School at 10:00 and Refuge contemporary worship at 11:00. Children’s classes at 10:00 are divided from nursery through sixth grade. During both worship services, younger participants may leave for an age-focused portion of worship. Methodist Youth Fellowship for grades seven through twelve meets Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for food, games, worship, study, and community. Fourth- through sixth-graders also have Tween Scene on the second Friday of each month from 6:00 to 9:00, unless the bulletin announces another plan. Visitors can choose a service based on musical style rather than formality of clothing. Because monthly tween activities and seasonal programs vary, the Sunday bulletin or children’s office should be checked before planning around them.
