St. Mary Catholic Church

About this church

St. Mary Catholic Church celebrates Mass at 4 p.m. Saturday and 7 and 11 a.m. Sunday at 9894 Gilbert Road in the Fannett area of Beaumont. Weekday Mass is offered at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday through Friday. The shared parish website also lists a separate 9 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Mission, 7467 Boyt Road. That mission time belongs to another worship site and should not be confused with the St. Mary directory address.

St. Mary and St. Martin together serve Catholic families in Hamshire, Fannett, LaBelle, and Cheek within the Diocese of Beaumont. St. Mary traces its roots to a parish founded in Hamshire in 1899; St. Martin de Porres Mission was established later in Cheek in 1972. Shared ministries connect the two communities while retaining location-specific Mass schedules. The SMYLE youth program invites teenagers into Wednesday evenings that begin with a meal and social time from 5:30 to 6:45, followed by faith formation from 6:45 to 8. Its stated goals include discipleship, responsible participation in Catholic life, service, worship, and personal spiritual growth. Liturgical volunteers serve as lectors, altar servers, and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, with monthly schedules published online. Families preparing for Confirmation can consult the current session and expectation pages. For a first visit to St. Mary itself, use only the Gilbert Road weekend and weekday hours.
