First Christian Church of Denison

About this church

First Christian Church of Denison gathers at 800 West Woodard Street with Sunday services at 9 and 10:30 a.m.; the later service is streamed on Facebook. Guests can park in either lot north of Woodard or along Armstrong and enter through the north-side main doors. A service lasts a little more than an hour, combining singing, prayer, an expository Bible message, and the Lord's Table. Communion is celebrated weekly and offered to all believers. Afterward, staff and elders remain available for questions, introductions, or prayer.

The congregation's purpose is to glorify God, proclaim the gospel, and make disciples of Jesus. Its elder-led community encourages people to move from attending into membership, mutual care, and service with their time and abilities. Nursery care serves children through age two, with a separate preschool environment built around Christ-centered lessons and play. Older students have several defined pathways: SURGE brings fifth- and sixth-graders together on fourth Sundays, while EQUIP for middle school and ROOTED for high school meet Mondays at 6 p.m. Both groups pair Scripture with fellowship and practical discussion. Community groups, children's ministry, online messages, and a formal conversation with a pastor or elder provide clear next steps for adults exploring the church.
