First Baptist Church of Elgin

About this church

First Baptist Church of Elgin is a Baptist congregation organizing worship and discipleship for adults, children, and students. Sunday services, Bible study, small groups, children’s ministry, school-year student gatherings, marriage ministry, and parent-focused fellowship support growth in faith and relationships. The church emphasizes that worship transforms people and that questions are part of learning.

Adult Sunday School begins at 8:30 a.m. without childcare. Worship follows at 9:45 and 11:15, with FBCE Kids for babies through sixth grade during both services. Youth Sunday School for grades seven through twelve meets on the Back Porch at 11:15, making the later service the fullest student option. During the school year, Thrive student night runs Wednesday from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. with games and Bible teaching. MOMCo meets on the first Wednesday of the school year from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with childcare only for ages zero through five. Families should not arrive for 8:30 adult classes expecting children’s care; the parallel family programming begins with the two worship services.
