The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Friendswood

About this church

Friendswood, Texas has a single meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at 505 Deseret Drive, roughly 6.3 miles from the nearest other one the directory lists, in Houston. The meetinghouse provides a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom, and seating.

Four congregations share the building: Baybrook Ward at 9 a.m., Friendswood 1st Ward at 10:30 a.m., Friendswood 2nd Ward at 12 p.m., and the Armand Bayou YSA Branch at 1:30 p.m. The sacrament meeting lasts about an hour, made up of hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks given by members, and a second hour of classes comes next, Primary among them. There is no fee to attend and no collection plate ever passed. What a visitor wears, formal or casual, makes no difference to being welcome. With four groups using the building across the day, it's worth checking which time and congregation fits best. As these schedules are set locally and adjusted periodically, calling ahead before a first visit is worth doing.
