Wesley Methodist Church

About this church

Wesley Methodist Church gathers at 10:00 a.m. Sunday in Harlingen. Children begin in worship and leave after the children's time for their own church program. Holy Communion is also taken to homebound members on the first Sunday by trained volunteers, extending the sacramental community beyond the building. The congregation's worship, music, prayer, Emmaus groups, Bible classes, and care ministries follow a recognizable Wesleyan pattern of grace, formation, and practical service.

The same campus houses Wesley Preparatory School and Daycare, open weekdays for local families. Children's choir meets Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:00 for age five through fifth grade, and youth and adult ministries continue the age pathway. Mission work includes disaster response, missionaries, and support in communities facing poverty across the United States and abroad. Prayer shawls, home Communion, office volunteers, and local outreach give members quieter service roles alongside larger mission efforts. Visitors can expect one shared Sunday service rather than multiple styles, with children integrated at the beginning. Families interested in weekday care can evaluate the church and preschool as related but distinct parts of the Austin Avenue campus.
