St. Stephen's United Methodist Church meets at 2003 West 43rd Street in Houston. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:15 a.m., and traditional worship starts at 10:30 in person and on YouTube. On the third Sunday, a community breakfast is served at 8:30 and a family worship service begins at 9:15, while the 10:30 traditional service continues as usual. Children are welcomed as active participants in congregational worship.

Founded in May 1950, St. Stephen's has served the Garden Oaks and Oak Forest area for more than 70 years. The first congregation met in a one-engine fire-station garage, and the Johnson Memorial School has now served preschoolers for over half a century. The church describes its building as a mission outpost and deliberately includes people across abilities, generations, races, economic circumstances, and family structures. Community partnerships, food and school-supply projects, Bible Village, scouting, youth ministry, and mission teams put that vision into practice.
