Lane Prairie Baptist Church

About this church

Sunday Bible study starts at 9:45 a.m. at Lane Prairie Baptist Church, and the Joshua church moves into worship at 10:45 at 412 County Road 704. Wednesday activities for all ages meet at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are greeted at the doors by a welcome team, and dress ranges from casual to suits and dresses. The worship service provides an opportunity to complete a guest card, but the church says contact information is kept private. Its focus is gospel-centered, kingdom-minded discipleship grounded in Scripture.

Sunday School serves preschool children through adults, with multiple adult classes organized by life stage. During worship, children leave the sanctuary for Bible teaching tied to the same Scripture being preached, plus games and recreation. Awana for ages three through sixth grade meets at 6:30 Wednesday with games, handbook work, Scripture memory, and a Bible message. Students gather at 9:30 Sunday and 6:30 Wednesday for Bible study, prayer, camps, and mission projects. Lane Prairie is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and has served Johnson County since 1871; the church moved to its current area in 1905 when the railroad changed the original location. Newcomers can use the 9:45 class hour to build relationships or arrive for worship only, while families should allow time to locate age-graded rooms.
