St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church

About this church

St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church celebrates Sunday Mass at 8 and 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., plus a Saturday vigil at 5. Saturday also includes an 8 a.m. Mass and confession from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Weekday liturgies are Monday and Friday at 8 a.m., a Tuesday Communion service at 8, and Wednesday and Thursday Mass at 5:30 p.m. First-Friday adoration follows the 8 a.m. Mass and continues until 6 p.m. The church has served Kingsville-area Catholics for more than a century; Catholic services began locally in 1908, and the present church was completed in 1957.

Religious-education pages publish Sunday class periods from 9 to 9:50 and 10 to 10:50 a.m. for the 2026–27 year, with formation for First Communion and Confirmation. OCIA serves unbaptized adults, children over seven seeking initiation, baptized Christians seeking full communion, and Catholics completing sacraments. Parish ministries include ACTS retreats, altar service, lectors, music, ushers and greeters, Knights of Columbus, and outreach that helps with groceries, prescriptions, and some financial needs. St. Gertrude families should verify which grades use each class period. The parish can also clarify Mass duration and language, music, childcare and arrival safeguards, attire, parking, accessible entry, hearing support, streaming, and Communion practice for non-Catholic guests.
