Saint James Lutheran Church

About this church

St. James Lutheran Church in Llano is a congregation of the North American Lutheran Church whose history in the town goes back to 1897, when it was organized as St. Jakobi Lutheran. Sunday worship begins at 10 a.m. and runs about an hour. Holy Communion is offered on several Sundays each month as well as on festival Sundays. The church office keeps hours by appointment, so calling ahead is the best way to reach someone during the week.

Before worship, Sunday school meets from 9 to 9:45 a.m. with separate classes for adults and children; the adult class pairs a Bible lesson with coffee and donuts. A confirmation program guides youth toward making a personal profession of faith. During the week, an arts and crafts gathering meets Tuesday afternoons in Schorlemmer Hall with supplies provided, and a Thursday evening fellowship time offers games such as cornhole and shuffleboard. Members also share a potluck meal after worship on the last Sunday of each month. The website links to daily Bible readings and prayers from the North American Lutheran Church for use at home. Schedules on the events calendar can change, so check the website or call the church before visiting.
