Grace Temple Baptist Church

About this church

Grace Temple Baptist Church opens its Sunday schedule with classes at 9 a.m., then worships at 10:15 at 105 Guthrie Street in San Angelo. The worship service is also streamed online. Nursery care is available from 9 to 11:30 for infants through prekindergarten. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade have Sunday School from 9 to 10 and Children's Church from 10:15 to 11:30 in the Administration Building, giving families a clearly coordinated morning. The church's “Gather. Grow. Go.” theme connects congregational worship, spiritual development, and mission.

Grace Temple began as a mission of Pecan Baptist Church in Robert Lee in 1967 and formally organized as a church in 1973. Its stated aim is to make disciples and help San Angelo residents become fully developing followers of Jesus. Students in grades six through twelve meet for Sunday School at 9 and gather Wednesday from 6 to 7:15 p.m. for worship, relationships, and Bible study. Associated ministries connect the congregation with the Baptist Missionary Association of Texas and wider work in missions, evangelism, benevolence, and Christian education. Adults can also participate in study, discipleship, service, and ministry teams. A newcomer can attend worship alone or begin at 9 for the full education-and-service sequence. Families should use the Administration Building directions for children and students rather than assuming every class is inside the main sanctuary building.
