Calvary Baptist Church

About this church

Calvary Baptist Church is a Reformed Southern Baptist congregation in Tyler, Texas, seeking to glorify God through worship, growth as a church family, and ministry to people locally and globally. The church holds a high view of Scripture and practices expository preaching, while Sunday music blends hymns with contemporary songs. Bible study is available for all ages. Children learn through the Gospel Project, which traces Christ through the whole biblical story, and younger children receive extended care during the worship hour. Community groups and evening children’s and student ministries provide smaller settings for fellowship and discipleship.

Bible study begins Sundays at 9:00 a.m., followed by worship at 10:15 in the Worship Center. Ushers at the main entrance can escort first-time families to the right classroom or ministry area. Children age four and younger may remain in extended care during worship in rooms immediately beside the Worship Center. Sunday community groups meet from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with children’s and student ministries from 6:00 to 7:00. The church is at 6704 Old Jacksonville Highway, less than half a mile north of FRESH. Visitors should check the calendar for evening-group locations and seasonal schedule changes.
