Uvalde Methodist Church

About this church

Uvalde Methodist Church, on North High Street in Uvalde, offers three Sunday morning services: traditional worship at 8 a.m., contemporary worship at 9 a.m. and traditional worship at 11 a.m., with Sunday school at 10 a.m. Traditional services open with acolytes lighting the candles and include hymns, the Apostles' Creed, an offering and a sermon. Communion is served weekly at 8 a.m. and monthly at the other services. The contemporary service is led by a praise band with lyrics projected for the congregation. On fifth Sundays, the church holds a single 10:30 a.m. service followed by a potluck lunch; check the website for the current schedule.

Nursery care for children 3 and under is offered Sunday mornings in the Children's Wing, with no reservation needed. A confirmation class is offered for middle schoolers. On Wednesdays during the school year, a shared meal called The Lord's Supper brings all ages together at the Christian Life Center, and the God's Kids children's choir rehearses that afternoon. High school youth meet Sunday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Christian Life Center. Adults can join age-based Sunday school classes, women's and men's Bible studies, and a handbell choir. Outreach includes a Wesley Nurse health ministry, community-based counseling, the Walk to Emmaus and Chrysalis community, and a mission team to Costa Rica. Past services are posted on YouTube.
