Midtown Church of Christ

About this church

Midtown Church of Christ offers Bible classes for every age Sundays at 9:00 a.m., morning worship at 10:00, and evening worship at 5:00 at 5901 North Main Street in Victoria. On the first Sunday of each month, a luncheon is followed by an earlier 12:45 p.m. service instead of the usual evening time. All-ages Bible classes also meet Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.

Worship follows a simple Church of Christ pattern: congregational singing without instruments, prayer, Bible preaching, weekly Communion with unleavened bread and grape juice, and an offering for members that guests are not expected to support. Adult and children’s classes study Scripture at an age-appropriate level. Midtown began in 1995 when about 50 people formed the congregation, meeting first in a former dress store and later a hotel before establishing its current campus. A first-time visitor can arrive for classes or begin with 10:00 worship; anyone considering the evening service should check whether it is a first Sunday. The published explanation is unusually detailed, making it easy to anticipate a cappella music, the Lord’s Supper, and the order of worship.
