The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Mesa Hills Ward, Cedar City

About this church

The Mesa Hills Ward meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is at 1925 W 320 S in Cedar City, Utah, one of fifteen buildings the directory lists in the city. Another meetinghouse is about four-tenths of a mile away, and the building has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom, and seating.

Four congregations rotate through on Sundays: the Mesa Hills Ward at 9 a.m., the Hillcrest Ward at 10:30 a.m., the Cedarview Ward at 12 p.m., and the Cedar 16th Ward at 1:30 p.m. Because congregations are organized by geography, several sharing one building at staggered hours is typical here. Each sacrament meeting lasts close to an hour, with hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks by members of the congregation, followed by a second hour of classes that includes Primary. Attendance costs nothing and no collection plate is passed, and visitors are always welcome. Many members dress up for the occasion, though a guest is welcome exactly as they are. A quick call ahead of a first Sunday is worthwhile, since local leaders set and occasionally adjust these schedules.
