The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Holladay 14th Ward, Holladay

About this church

Two wards meet at 4917 S Viewmont St in Holladay, a city where the directory counts ten separate Latter-day Saint meetinghouses, with the closest of them barely three-tenths of a mile away. The Holladay 14th Ward opens the building at 9:30 a.m., and the Holladay 4th Ward follows at 12:30 p.m., which explains why the doors stay open from mid-morning into early afternoon. Wheelchair access extends to the entrance, parking lot, restroom, and seating areas.

Each sacrament meeting lasts about an hour and includes hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from ordinary members rather than a hired clergy. A second hour of classes follows, with Primary set aside for children. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints welcomes visitors at no cost, and while many attendees dress in Sunday clothes, no one is turned away for coming casually. A call ahead is a sensible precaution since local schedules do shift.
