The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Sand Hollow 1st Ward, Hurricane

About this church

Hurricane, Utah has nine meetinghouses of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the directory, and this one on 3400 West sits about a mile from its closest neighbor. The building's entrance, parking lot, restroom, and seating are all wheelchair accessible.

Four congregations share the building on Sundays, including the Sand Hollow 5th Ward at 9 a.m., the Sand Hollow 4th Ward at 10:30, and the Sky Mountain 6th Ward at 12 p.m. Wards and branches are organized around where their members live, so it's common for a building like this to host several on staggered schedules. This sacrament meeting, like others, takes close to an hour and includes hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from congregation members, with a second hour of classes afterward. There's no charge for visitors, and no collection plate is passed around. These times are decided at the local level and sometimes change, so a call before a first visit is worth it.
